Houston:
Woods Hole Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Physical Oceanographer/Ocean Engineer to join our Houston office and to participate in a wide variety of activities, including project work, project management, proposals, and business development. This job is an important strategic hire for a person looking to make a long-term commitment to business development, and requires a candidate with significant relevant experience. This person could become the Future Manager of Woods Hole Group’s Houston office.

Falmouth:
Woods Hole Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Ocean Scientist/Engineer  to join our Oceanography and Measurement Systems (OMS) department in Falmouth, Massachusetts. The candidate would participate in a wide variety of activities, including project work, project management, proposals, and business development. The candidate would focus on performing high-level scientific and engineering work for a variety of clients including oil companies, offshore and coastal engineering firms, the US Government. This job is for someone interested in making a long-term commitment to Woods Hole Group that could result in leading the OMS team.

Hannuman

Hannuman Bull has more than 6 years of professional experience in the fields of Ocean Engineering and Marine Science. He specializes in the areas of oceanographic instrumentation, instrument deployment systems, and systems integration. Mr. Bull has field experience in remote barrier islands, salt marshes, coastal waters, deep sea exploration vessels, and offshore oil and natural gas platforms. He has worked closely with a range of environmental sensors for monitoring oceanographic, meteorological, and structural conditions. Mr. Bull has experience operating and developing systems on Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems. He has experience programming in MatLab, Python, and PHP, and has developed database applications using MySQL. He also has experience designing and troubleshooting communications networks including Ethernet, fiber optics, serial, UDP, wireless, and satellite.
Mr. Bull is a member of the Marine Technology Society and the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society. In 2003 he earned his B.S. in Ocean Engineering from Florida Atlantic University. Since then, he has worked as a Marine Research Engineer and Research Island Manager for the University of South Carolina, Oceanographic Engineer /Project Manager for Fugro GEOS, and an Oceanographic Data Engineer for the Institute for Exploration.
At the Woods Hole Group, he works with Senior Engineers to design, maintain and troubleshoot oceanographic instrument systems.
Hannuman Bull
 joined the Woods Hole Group
Falmouth Office as an Oceanographic Electronics Technician/Ocean Engineer in November 2012, under the direction and management of Dr. Bruce Magnell. Hannuman earned his B.A. in Ocean Engineering at the Florida Atlantic University.

Trevor

Trevor Ball has over 5 years of design, assembly and fabrication experience working as a mechanical engineer. He is experienced with a variety of CAD packages including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ProE, and Mechanical Desktop, as well as experience with fluid mechanics. Mr. Ball earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UMASS Lowell in 2011. He spent 5 years drafting, assembling and designing for the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute as an engineering assistant. Now, at Woods Hole Group, he has assisted in the design of internal structures and modeling for the Watch Dog project, as well as models of monitoring stations in the Jacksonville, FL area. Trevor has strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as experience collaborating with scientists and machinists in the development of project components. Trevor Ball joined the Woods Hole Group Falmouth Office as a Mechanical Engineer in October 2012, under the direction and management of Dr. Bruce Magnell. Trevor earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UMASS Lowell in 2011.

Johns Intern

Chris Gallagher started working June 2013 as a summer intern under John Brawley. Chris started working for Barnstable County Health Department doing waste water samples. Next he went on to work with NOAA on scallop surveys, collecting data on various species. After this, he worked for WHOI during the winter on underwater vehicles such as ROV and AUVs, and helped build an underwater observatory system for coastal upwelling research. Additionally, he has both academic and professional experience using GIS, and Auto CAD software. Chris is going to be a senior at Mass Maritime in the spring of 2014. He will be earning his BS in Marine Safety and Environmental Protection. He is very excited to be doing coastal research with John, and looking forward to supplementing his education with real world experience. Chris Gallagher  has been interning this summer, under the direction of John Brawley. Chris will be entering his senior year at Massachusetts Maritime Academy in the Fall.

Eric Aronchic

• Eric Aronchick has joined the Woods Hole Group as an Offshore Field Engineer in June 2013, under the direction and management of Dave Szabo.
